In the summer of 2024, Disney World premiered a highly advanced and popular nighttime show …that has completely disappeared!

Launching on May 24th last year, Disney Dreams that Soar was presented in the skies above Disney Springs. The show featured over 100 “state-of-the-art drones dancing across the sky, choreographed to a soaring musical score of iconic Disney music and memorable dialogue from beloved Disney movies.”
The highly advanced show featured drones coming together to form images of characters from some of Disney’s most beloved films, including Big Hero 6…

…Coco…

…Dumbo…

…Peter Pan…

…Up!…

…and Wall-E among others.

The shoe proved popular with guests, running twice a night at Disney Springs over the summer of 2024. The show’s final performances took place as scheduled on Labor Day 2024, with many expecting that the show – or a similar drone-based performance – would return for 2025.
However, since then, it’s been (Jiminy) crickets. No word of the show returning and no word on a replacement, despite the benefits the show brought by keeping crowds in Disney Springs into the night and providing another nighttime entertainment opportunity.

It may be speculated that Disney’s lack of a summer 2025 drone show may be linked to a non-Disney-related incident at an Orlando-area drone show in late 2024, however, no official statement has been made. According to the FAA’s description of that incident at the time, “Several small drones collided and fell into a crowd during a holiday drone show over (Lake Eola) in Orlando, Florida. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. local time on Saturday, Dec. 21st.”
The popular Disney Dreams that Soar show was a major part of Disney Springs’ Summer 2024 offerings, however, there has been radio silence about any possible return. Stay tuned to AllEars for any further updates.

I agree with Claudia. The DLP drone shows are fabulous. We also saw a drone show at a drone port in Belgium in February. At a city about an hour from us there have been drone shows at the cricket ground that are like theatre shows, telling a story such as “A Christmas Carol”. I haven’t been to any of these but they keep doing more so must be very popular.
If you like drones… come to Disneyland Paris! The evening show always features them (well, weather permitting) and every single version has been better than the last. I feel that people don’t talk about this enough!
