We recently said goodbye to Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Mama Melrose’s, PizzeRizzo, and Muppet*Vision 3D. Now, the whole area is behind construction walls.

That area is set to be converted into a Monsters, Inc. land with an all-new ride, Disney’s first suspended roller coaster ever. Well, we’ve previously seen concept art for this new land, but NEW concept art has shown some changes from that original concept, so let’s take a look.
Okay, so here’s the previous concept art that Disney released imagining what the land will look like:

Well, we popped by the old Muppets Courtyard today that’s behind construction walls, and there’s some NEW concept art on those walls — and it’s a bit different from what we’ve previously seen.

Here’s a closer look at the new concept art.

First, we noticed that there’s some space behind Harryhausen’s with some colorful awnings or tents or something like that. Yes, it seems there’s a shaded area there. We also noticed that Disney added some clothing hanging off some of the buildings and the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor billboard is gone, as well as the other billboard that was on the closest building.

In front of what is probably the ride building, the new concept art has Mike and Sulley standing there. More importantly, though, there’s a ride sign in front of the building. We did try to zoom in, but the name of the ride seems to be intentionally too garbled to read.

There’s still a billboard on the right, but the name of the theater has changed. It was once the Monstro, but now it’s The Glob.

The land’s entrance has also changed. Before, there was some wrought ironing that spanned above the two pillars, but in the new art, that’s gone. Also, there’s a round design on the stone on the ground. There was also a weird round figure near the entrance in the original art, but in the new art, that’s been converted into a fountain, which could suggest the Miss Piggy fountain will remain but without Miss Piggy.

It’s interesting to see how the concept of this land has already changed, and we’ll be even more curious to see how much of this gets translated into the land itself as Disney continues work on it.
If you miss the Muppets, don’t worry — they will return when they take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which is supposed to happen sometime in 2026.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
