PHOTOS: See Space Mountain with the Lights On in Disney World!

You never know what might happen when you’re visiting Disney World!

Space Mountain

We’ve learned to expect the unexpected in the parks, because you never know what’s gonna be thrown your way! Like it or not, Disney World rides close down fairly often — sometimes it’s for scheduled maintenance, and other times something just goes wrong and you have to roll with it. And, today is one of those “roll with it days” in Magic Kingdom — here’s why!

Early this morning, Space Mountain closed for technical difficulties, and we got a look at what the ride looks like with the LIGHTS ON as we passed through during our ride on the PeopleMover! Just be aware — you might never throw your hands up on the ride again after seeing these photos!

Lights are on in Space Mountain!

As you can see, the ride is pretty consolidated with all those twists and turns seemingly happening right on top of each other!

The ride is back up and running now, but be sure to check the My Disney Experience app before heading over if you’re visiting today. And, who knows — maybe you’ll get lucky and catch these sights at some point when you’re riding PeopleMover!

Now, we’ve seen a lot of ride closures in the parks lately, and while there’s nothing you can do to avoid them, you can still know how they could affect your day, and plan around any closures! When popular rides close, we often see higher wait times for other rides.

If you want to ride a popular ride that has closed, you should try to get in line as soon as it opens up again! There’s usually an initial rush of people, but if you get there at the right time, you can walk on the attraction in the middle of the day! Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney updates!
