Something cosmic is coming to EPCOT!

The park is going through a huge transformation right now, and one of the new experiences coming EPCOT is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, an all new coaster inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films! We’ve seen a couple looks inside the ride, a peek at the attraction’s queue, and even a glimpse of the gift shop for the ride. But today we got one of the biggest inside looks yet, directly from D23 (the official Disney fan club)!
D23 recently shared a first look at what part of the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is going to look like!

The Galaxarium will be a room in the queue where guests will learn more about the Wonders of Xandar pavilion that the ride is housed in.

The Galaxarium is a planetarium-inspired exhibit that will show guests the connections between Xandar and Terra (Earth.)

The full viewable experience inside the Galaxarium will actually be OVER 30 minutes long, so guests will have something new to look at for quite some time while in line!

Xandar, Terra, the Milky Way Galaxy, the Andromeda…

…and even Peter Quill’s Awesome Mix Vol. 1 are all featured in the Galaxarium experience!

D23 also shared some images of light fixtures that appear to be in this portion of the queue. Very cool!

We also got a peek at some of the signage for the Guardians coaster. Here’s the Wonders of Xandar logo!

And here’s a look at some of the doors leading to the ride. We can’t wait to see everything that will be behind them!

Want an up-close look at what the outside of the show building looks like? We’ve got that too! The walls have a giant Nova Corps logo on them!

We also got to see what the back of the Star Blaster ship looks like in all its glory! There will be plenty of details here for fans to stare at!

Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley has since shared more details about the Guardians queue via Instagram. According to Riddley, the “over 30-minute show” that goes on in the Galaxarium “begins to touch on both planets and how the Xandarian galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy, is similar to our own, showcasing the real science behind the formation of galaxies and solar systems.”

Riddley noted that the space is dynamic and is “organized around a radial grid.” Guests will rise an entire level through this radial grid with “sinuous ramping.” That’ll give everyone the chance to take in the details on the dome above from different viewpoints.

According to Riddley, the “lighting and architectural elements echo the color and aesthetic of Xandar and give a great mood to our first act of this attraction.”

And he even said that the ride will have nods to EPCOT history that EPCOT fans should enjoy!

We can’t wait to see more from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! Keep in mind that the attraction is expected to open in the summer of 2022, though no exact opening date has been shared yet.
