Disney World Just Revealed CRITICAL Details About The Changes Coming To Soarin’

Yes, everything really IS changing at Disney World…or it seems like it. We already know a lot about the changes coming to Magic Kingdom, with a new land, a Frontierland expansion, and updated rides. We know about a new ride, a new land, and an updated area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We also have a lot of details about the new land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Soarin’ pre-show

Well, EPCOT is going to be seeing a big change soon, too. Disney recently revealed that Soarin’ in both Disney World and Disneyland would become Soarin’ Across America to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the U.S., and now we have some important new details about when that will happen in Disney World.

Disney already revealed when Soarin’ Across America would open in Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort. Well, now we know when it will open in Disney World! Previously, we only knew that it would open by Memorial Day, but according to the Disney World calendar, it will be opening on May 26th, the day AFTER Memorial Day (okay, so they missed that original opening goal by a day).

However, that means the current version of Soarin’, Soarin’ Around the World, must close while Disney makes the changes to the ride. We also now know when that will happen. The Disney World calendar shows that the last day to ride Soarin’ Over The World will be on May 13th, so it will be closing on May 14th. So, prepare to say goodbye to the Leaning Eiffel Tower (they tried to fix it, but still, if you know, you know).

Soarin’

Soarin’ Across America will send us on a new adventure to soar across both coasts of the U.S., highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes. However, the new Soarin’ will keep elements from the original ride, including the flight, sights, score, and scents.

We also have a feeling that our favorite Chief Flight Attendant, Patrick, will still be part of the ride’s pre-show, although we don’t know if a new pre-show has been recorded as part of the ride update. But we did get to see him in the announcement video for the new version of the ride, so we don’t think he’s going anywhere.

Another thing that isn’t certain is if or when Soarin’ Around the World will return. Disney has not yet made an announcement about it, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for more information.

We’ll keep you updated on all things Disney, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.

  1. I really hope Disney does not get rid of the older versions of Soarin and some way lets guests enjoy every experience either by rotating each version through or building an additional theatre so all can be run simultaneously and guests can either choose the version or it is chosen for the guest based on where their line position is.

As to Patrick: I am begging Disney: you have taken away many things I have enjoyed at WDW: Muppets 3D, reducing Impressions de France to just a couple hours at night, The Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, The Great Movie Ride, Its Tough To Be A Bug just to name a few. Do not take Patrick away too. It simply is akin to showing the Beatles performance on American TV and not having Ed Sullivan introduce them.
