Disney Fans Are Answering An IMPOSSIBLE EPCOT Question

There’s perhaps no more beloved area of Walt Disney World than EPCOT’s World Showcase, the World’s Fair-like collection of recreations of various countries around the world. Each pavilion celebrates the culture of the country it represents through attractions, architecture, cuisine, and souvenirs, creating unique areas that are beloved by Disney Fans.

Mexico !

These pavilions are so beloved in fact that many Disney fans would likely have trouble choosing their favorite… so of course that’s exactly what we asked them to do! Specifically, we took to our Facebook page to ask, “If you HAD to pick (yes, this is us making you pick), which World Showcase pavilion is your favorite and why?” Unsurprisingly, that query elicited a litany of responses!

I’ve written in the past about how the Mexico Pavilion is my personal favorite, so selfishly — and as one should when entering World Showcase — I’m starting there.

Several readers agree with my assessment, including reader Stephanie, who wrote, “Easy, Mexico for sure! None of the other pavilions have an entire outdoor nighttime market with a pyramid and river in them. The boat ride and margaritas are just added bonuses that make it even better! It’s been my favorite since I first saw it on my first trip in 1996 when I was 9. I was in awe. Still my favorite.” Reader Matthew added, “Mexico. I love having a meal at San Angel Inn, probably the most old school atmospheric restaurant in all of Walt Disney World. Add in the ride, the shops, the tequila bar, the museum…plus the lagoon-side dining. It has it all.”

However, the indoor pavilion was far from the only one to receive love. Several readers named it’s cross lagoon counterpart Canada.

Reader Scott summed up the thoughts of many who chose Canada, writing, “Love ’em all, but for me, it’s Canada. I’ve loved ever iteration of the 360-degree film that has been presented, and I always stop to spend ten to twenty minutes admiring the Victoria Gardens.”

Meanwhile, reader Pat went with the France Pavilion, writing, “I like France with the crepes, the bakery, the Ice cream area, the rides and shows.” They were one of several readers with namecheck France’s food and its “ride” (Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure) as reasons they chose it the pavilion as their top choice.

Reader Maxine was one of several to name Japan, writing, “Hard choice – but if I HAVE to pick only one …. Japan. I love the department store and the very pretty, tranquil gardens ….”

Meanwhile, reader Audress was one of several to name Morocco — the only pavilion to be designed by the government of the country it represents —  as their top choice, writing, “If you’re making me pick: I’d say Morocco. The scenery is beautiful, you can get lost in the little walkways (that are often not crowded) and don’t ask me how- but the cast members there are invariably some of the friendliest, kindest on property. And that’s saying something.”

Other pavilions to receive votes include the United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, and even the American Adventure. As of press time, the China Pavilion was the only one not to receive any votes.

  1. I love Italy. I like to get an Italian margarita and sit at one of the umbrella tables and soak in the atmosphere while sipping my drink. I have been to Italy three times and enjoyed the outdoor cafes so much and I get some of those same feelings sitting in the Italy pavilion in Epcot. The food and drinks and shopping in the pavilion brings back so many good vacation memories while I’m making new ones.
