The Ride Photo for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Disney World Got a MAJOR Upgrade

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin finally has a reopening date! The Magic Kingdom ride will open on April 8th.

After boarding the brand-new ride vehicle, you’ll meet Star Command’s newest support bot, Buddy, who will train you to take down Zurg! While many changes have been previously announced, Disney just revealed another — the ride photo!

Here’s a look at the new PhotoPass ride photo coming to Buzz Lightyear’s ride! The new photo shows you and your player two, along with your ride scores, total targets hit, special targets hit, and your Star Command ranking! Now you’ll never forget your high score. Become a Galactic Hero? Now you have hard proof.

That’s not the only new addition, though. Inspired by the colors of Buzz Lightyear and Star Command, these new ride vehicles look awesome. The vehicles also have video monitors that provide real-time scoring updates. You know the ones seen in Hollywood Studios‘ shooting game Toy Story Mania? Yeah, we’re expecting something similar.

The reopened ride features all-new interactive targets that react and light up when hit. They’ll flash green if you score, so now you can tell when you’ve hit!

There are also new handheld blasters with always-on lasers, along with new lighting, sound, and vibration effects. These will detach from the holder for easier shooting!

There’s also a brand new scene featuring the green aliens and an escape hatch!
