There are tons of perks when you choose to stay at a Disney World hotel.

All Disney World hotel guests can take advantage of free transportation, Early Theme Park Entry, booking Lightning Lane selections seven days in advance, and free water park tickets on their check-in day. Plus, those staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort can participate in Extended Evening Hours. While these perks are nice, there is one hotel perk that is almost a universal benefit that still has yet to return to Disney World.
Disney World, along with the entire tourism industry, had to adjust a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of these adjustments was limiting contact, so Disney World paused room service.

Disney World has been operating almost all the way normal for a few years now, so we aren’t sure why they have not returned this popular perk. There is an exception to this, as those staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, are able to order room service.

We remember the days when we used to get back from the parks late, and we were able to order a pizza and have it delivered to our room, regardless of what Disney World resort we were staying at.

Disney Cruise Line is known for their free 24/7 room service where you can order fan favorites like chicken tenders, wings, and, of course, Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars. This perk is so loved on all of Disney’s ships that it makes us wonder why Disney would not want to bring back the paid-for version of room service at Disney World.

Even Universal Orlando’s Value Resorts offers in-room pizza delivery. It sadly seems that Disney World’s “pause” on room service will not be temporary.

If you want to have a meal in your room, we would recommend placing a Mobile Order at your resort’s food court or quick service location. Some resorts have even started to offer Table Service to Go, allowing you to order “fancier” table service food to go.
Currently, the following table service restaurants are available on Mobile Order:
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

We hope that Disney World will once again start to offer room service, as it was a great perk.
