Disney World Cast Members Are Literally Begging You To Stop Breaking This Rule.

When you are on vacation at Disney World, we know one of the last things that you want to think about is rules.

Animal Kingdom

Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth, and you are meant to have fun and enjoy your time there! Safety is super important to Disney, and “safety” is one of the five keys that Cast Members use as a guide for interactions with guests. Cast Members are told to prioritize the “Safety Key” over any other key. While there are a lot of rules that Cast Members wish people would follow, there is one rule that Cast Members literally beg people to stop breaking.

If you have ever ridden a ride at Disney World or any theme park, you know that you are told countless times to remain seated and keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the ride at all times. This important safety phrase is repeated over and over, and you would think people would get the memo. Still, sometimes, people let their excitement get the best of them and forget to follow the safety briefing.

We were recently riding Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom and encountered a family that would not listen to the Cast Members’ safety instructions. If you did not know, Kilimanjaro Safaris takes you up close to real live animals, and you never know what animals you might see when you go out; each ride can be different!

The Perfect Time to Ride Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney World

Disney takes your safety and the safety of its animals seriously. When we were riding Kilimanjaro Safaris with this family, the Cast Member repeatedly asked the family to remain seated and not yell at the animals.

Remember to remain seated!

As we said, while on safari, you can see some really cool animals up close, and sometimes, people let their excitement get the best of them and risk their safety for a photo. You could say that some people have no “selfie control.”

CUTENESS ALERT! There’s a New Baby Animal at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

You never know who you might see!

Even outside of a controlled environment like Disney World, people risk their safety for the perfect selfie with wild animals, especially in national parks. Some people who have gotten too close to these wild animals have become injured.

To help combat this, the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board in Wyoming introduced a new Instagram filter called “Selfie Control.” This filter was made to help visitors gauge how close they really are to wildlife through their phone’s camera. The filter was released in the summer and is free!

Currently, the filter includes five animals based on the animals found in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. You can choose between bison, moose, elk, and black and grizzly bears. The filter is able to tell the photographer where to stand to get the animal’s correct sizing in regard to the other person in the photo. While this filter does not include all of the animals that you can see in Animal Kingdom, it is a good alternative to trying to stand and get an animal’s attention for a photo, especially when you are in a moving vehicle like Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Disney currently has PhotoPass lenses that come with certain add-on purchases. These lenses are like Instagram filters but have some extra Disney magic. We wonder if Disney will take a page out of the “Selfie Control” filter and add some of the animals that you can see in Animal Kingdom as a PhotoPass lens option.

Until then, make sure to listen to Cast Members’ instructions as they genuinely do care about your safety! For more Disney news and updates, make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars!
