Come on Disney…
One of the most common refrains we hear about Disney World is that a trip to the resort can be too complicated. Between the various tiers of Lightning Lane, acquiring dining reservations, and generally navigating the ever-changing parks, there definitely is a lot of effort involved in visiting the resort. Now, that’s extending to the Magic Kingdom’s seasonal treats.
Disney World, and the Magic Kingdom in-particular, have a long history of exclusive treats being offered for holidays, including Christmas. So-far, so-good. It’s also not out of the ordinary for there to be exclusive treats offered only during events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. However, where things are going a bit overboard when it comes to scheduling this year.
Looking over the list of Christmas and holiday treats available in 2024, there’s a lot variation to treat availability. Some items are available only at the party, and some are available during normal park operating hours and during the party. However, there’s also a large amount that are only available at specific times, many of which are different than others.
Some examples include:
- The Whoopie Pie and Cherry Cordial from the Cheshire Cafe are only available until 6:00PM.
- The Baked Brie Flatbread, the Lasagna Flatbread, and the Black Forest Parfait at Pinocchio’s Village Haus are only available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party… BUT only until 9:30PM.
- The Columbia Harbor House is offering a Gingerbread Cake, but only until 5:00PM.
- Two Magic Kingdom locations – – Liberty Square Market and Sleepy Hollow – – offer a Brownie Peppermint Bark snack, but only until 8:30PM.
- Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn has four specialty items – – Carne Asada Loaded Fries, “Christmas-Style” Cheese and Chile Tamales, a Chocolate Eggnog Tart, and a Salted Caramel Horchata beverage – – all of which are available until 11:00PM on party nights.
- The same 11:00PM cutoff applies to the Holiday Pineapple-Orange-Guava Juice Float and Cranberry Citrus Float at Aloha Isle Refreshments.
While all of these snacks – – as well as Disney’s overall seasonal offerings from the Magic Kingdom – – are worth trying, you’ll need to keep a list going to make sure the snack you want is available when you want to try it, which seems just a bit too complicated.
