A new show coming to Disney World is taking a big step towards opening!
It’s an exciting time to be a Disney Villains fan! Of course, there’s an entire new Villains-themed land to look forward to at Magic Kingdom in the future. But Disney’s Hollywood Studios is kicking off the excitement for our favorite baddies by introducing a NEW Disney Villains show set to debut next year!
Earlier this year, Disney announced that a new stage show featuring iconic Disney Villains is coming to Hollywood Studios in the summer of 2025.
The show will take place in Sunset Showcase, the former home of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, and will transform the theater into “the mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror.” It will feature several appearances by infamous Disney evildoers, including Captain Hook, Maleficient, and Cruella de Vil. The Villains have been teased to break through the glass as they take the stage for live production numbers.
If you’re already excited to see the Villains in action, we have some good news — the new show just took a huge step towards opening! Disney has now posted a casting call for actors to fill the roles of Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent.
The casting includes additional details of what Disney is looking for in each of the roles. The roles of Cruella and Maleficent both state that “basic vocal and musicality skills [are] preferred,” while the role of Captain Hook says, “vocalist and musical theatre movement skills [are] required.”
Disney announced that the show is set to debut in the summer of 2025, so we’re excited to see that things are moving forward with casting.
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more news about the Disney Villains show, including an opening date, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates!
