FULL REVIEW: What You Should (and Shouldn’t) Order at Disney’s Updated Napa Rose Lounge

There are some great restaurants in Disneyland, with even more on the way. But let’s talk about a restaurant that’s been around for a while, one that we would consider quintessential fine dining in Disneyland, Napa Rose.

Napa Rose

Napa Rose, which can be found at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, closed in 2025 for a lengthy refurbishment that will include an all-new look and a new menu. Well, we just got a peek into the new Napa Rose Lounge and sampled some of the lounge and restaurant’s new food and drinks. And we’re bringing you along with us to try it all out.

Background

Napa Rose is the fine dining restaurant at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. The lounge and restaurant recently got a completely updated look themed to reflect California’s rich history of winemaking.

Napa Rose Lounge

The restaurant and lounge closed for renovations in April 2025, but we were told that all of the staff who were with the restaurant before its closure have returned for the reopening.

Atmosphere

The newly revamped lounge features some of that theming with natural textiles, along with French Oak flooring and columns. There are also hints of artisan metal, along with leathers, and deep cabernet colors.

Updated lounge

The lighting fixtures are inspired by California’s Mission grapevines.

Lighting

The restaurant will have an exhibition kitchen, as well as an expanded patio and two new fireplaces.

You can also reserve a renovated private dining room for special occasions.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

The small bites menu at the Napa Rose Lounge is completely new, and we started with the Filet mignon tartare on brioche with yolk sous vide for 3 hours. The steak had a great flavor, and the yolk added a nice earthiness to each bite.

The Lobster Tamale with Caviar was also tasty, and we think if you love lobster and caviar, you’ll really appreciate the flavors of this dish. This is also just a really unique way to make a tamale.

Finally, we tried the Tart Flambé with Portobello Mushrooms.
This was a nice, earthy flatbread with a nice combination of cheesy and portobello flavors. It also had a nice crunch.

Side note: We do expect these small bites to be a little different when the Napa Rose Lounge officially reopens because the menu is expected to be seasonal, so it will change from time to time.

Magic or Tragic?

This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You’re not on a budget. Although we don’t have prices for the current menu, the lounge has been pricey in the past, although not as pricey as the restaurant.
  • You’re celebrating a special occasion. If you’re celebrating something, popping into the Napa Rose lounge will feel special.
  • You just want elevated drinks and quick bites. If you’re craving something beyond the usual bar menu, Napa Rose will offer something unique.

You should skip this Disneyland spot if…

  • You’re on a budget. This lounge can get pricey.
  • You have children in your party. This is not exactly a place to bring kids, and kids.d
  • You have picky eaters in your party. The menu at the lounge is for more adventurous diners.
