A moment we have been waiting for since January 23rd, 2023, is almost here! We’re getting ready to drop into the bayou with Tiana and friends aboard Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. Disney shared a NEW opportunity to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure with online previews of the new attraction.

We have been watching the progress on this retheme for what feels like YEARS now (although it has only been about a year and a half). Disney World has given us a lot of sneak peeks into various aspects of the ride. We were introduced to new critter friends, got a peek at new animatronics, and we have been watching the construction progress from inside Magic Kingdom.
WARNING: MAJOR TIANA’S BAYOU ADVENTURE RIDE SPOILERS AHEAD
Thanks to a NEW FULL ride-through of the attraction, you can experience this ride before its official opening date on June 28th, 2024. We are bringing you all the details and a first look at what to expect, so let’s go!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up where The Princess and the Frog left off and takes us on an adventure through the bayou with Tiana and her friends. Tiana is throwing a Mardi Gras party; however, she and her friend, Louis, the jazz-loving alligator, need our help to gather all of the musical critters from the bayou to throw the biggest, bangin’-est bayou jamboree ever.

Music is an important aspect of setting the scene, and this attraction has delivered on the sounds! Prior to previews, we knew that the attraction was going to feature original music “inspired by songs from the film.” We knew that Jenifer Lewis, the voice behind Mama Odie is being featured. In addition to Mama Odie, other voices from the film, including Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis, and Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana, will be featured on the ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure features lots of zydeco music, specifically in the bayou. Zydeco music is a “special blend of rhythm and blues that was born in Louisiana.” This style of music brings together the sounds and styles of many cultures and helps to reflect the spirit of inclusion that Imagineers wanted represented in this attraction.

PJ Morton, a Grammy Award-Winning musician and keyboardist for Maroon 5, created an original song for the ride and is playing a large role in the music for this attraction. Additionally, Terence Blanchard, a Grammy-Award Winning Artist, has also helped to make the music come to life.

We were excited to experience all this attraction has to offer, and the music and sounds did not disappoint at all! We found ourselves jammin’ along and really feeling like we were traveling down the bayou. We heard the following songs from the The Princess and the Frog movie:
- Down in New Orleans
- Almost There
- Gonna Take You There
- Dig a Little Deeper

In addition to those songs from the film, we also heard some original songs, including the new song Special Spice.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently only offering previews for select groups. Prior to the grand opening, DVC members, D23 Gold Members, Annual Passholders, and Cast Members were given the opportunity to sign up for a preview slot. Beginning June 28th, 2024, the ride will be available for anyone to ride.

In order to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on opening day, you will need to either get a virtual queue or book a Genie+ selection for the ride. There will not be a standby line option when it opens. You can grab a virtual queue at 7AM or 1PM or purchase the Genie+ service and try to get a time slot for the ride. While the ride will open with a virtual queue, Disney World has made it sound like it may not stick around for long. We will keep you updated if there are any changes to how you can ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
