NEWS: Universal Announces OPENING DATE for NEW Texas Theme Park

We’ve got HUGE news today, all thanks to Universal!

You’re likely most familiar with Universal Orlando or Universal Hollywood, but do you know about the new theme park coming to Frisco, Texas? It’s unlike any of the other Universal parks around right now, and we’ve been anxiously awaiting its opening for months now. Finally, we’ve got huge news — an opening date has been announced!

Universal Kids Resort will officially open to the public on July 1st, 2026! Previously, it had been announced that the theme park would open sometime in summer 2026, but there was no official timeline. You can bet we’re already planning our trip!

Universal Kids Resort will, as the name implies, be geared all towards kids! There are seven lands in the park, and while they’re open for all ages, kids will especially find them exciting. Soon, you’ll be able to experience:

Isle of Curiosity featuring Gabby’s Dollhouse
Spongebob Squarepants Bikini Bottom
Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions
Trollsfest
Shrek’s Swamp
Puss in Boots Del Mar
Jurassic World Adventure Camp

There will be dozens of attractions to experience at the park, including, but certainly not limited to:

Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After
Shrek’s Swamp Splash and Smash
Mrs. Puff’s Boating School
Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby
Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster
Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express
King Trollex Techno Dance Party
Swings Over Del Mar

Attached to the park, as well as acting as the main entrance, is none other than the Universal Kids Resort Hotel. Yes, you can stay right on property to be super close to the fun!

From what we’ve been able to see from outside the construction site, it’s all looking extremely colorful, fun, and like it’ll be a paradise for kids looking to have a great time.
