It has been a busy few days in the Disney World parks, so when one ride is temporarily closed it can cause other rides to have extended wait times.

Unfortunately, rides can close down throughout the day. There may be many reasons you could see this on your trip. Sometimes they are entirely outside of the Cast Members’ control. Now, on March 30th, 2024, it appears that Spaceship Earth has been temporarily closed in EPCOT for over 3 hours hours. Here’s what we know.
Thanks to an AllEars viewer on Instagram, @steph.tbhh, we have been notified that Spaceship Earth, the classic ride in the giant sphere in EPCOT, is closed, and it appears that water leakage seems to be the issue.

According to a Cast Member that she talked to, the ride has been closed since around 5 PM. You can see Cast Members working to clear up the water mess that seems to be coming from the sphere.

At this point, we have not heard any other information or confirmation from Cast Members pertaining to what may have caused the water to be dripping. We also are unaware of how much longer the ride will be down for. The My Disney Experience app is still showing the ride is closed as of 8:10 PM. The viewer also noticed that once it got dark, the lights on Spaceship Earth were all off.

If a ride you really want to get on closes down, the best thing to do is keep checking the Disney World app for updates. Cast Members are doing their best to make some magic to get the ride operational once more, but sometimes patience is all we can do as guests.

As for Spaceship Earth, this is a developing story, and we will continue to wait until we hear more from Disney. Until then, keep following AllEars for more Disney news.
