The WORST Disney World Park According to Yelp

By now you’re probably used to US rating things around Disney World, but sometimes it’s good to call in a second opinion.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

We’ve got lists from the best Disney World hotel rooms to the worst ways to spend your money and everything in between. However, this time we’re taking a closer look at which of the 4 Disney World parks is the WORST, and we’ve enlisted some extra help from Yelp …and the answer may surprise you.

If you’re not familiar with Yelp, it’s a website where users can leave reviews of restaurants, stores and other places based on their experiences with each. While it’s incredibly helpful to find places that folks highly recommend, their ranking system (on a scale of 1 to 5 stars) also makes it very easy to determine which places people really weren’t thrilled with.

If you take a look at the current reviews on Yelp of each of the 4 Disney World theme parks, the lowest ranking of them all is Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

A quick peek at the highlights pretty much sums up the park with reviews noting, “If you love Star Wars, Pixar and other Disney movies, this is the go-to option among the 4 major Disney Parks.” Yes, hundreds of reviews have nailed the overall theming of this park, but scrolling in the individual reviews really gave us more insight as to what people really didn’t like about it.

This reviewer had a few things that bugged them about the overall feel at the park but was pleased for the most part with the rides and attractions the park has to offer.

They also noted that the outside attractions and shows can be closed unexpectedly due to inclement weather in the area.

Another reviewer said, “Based on what kind of visitor you are, this park will either be a hit or miss.”

They also ended their review by comparing Hollywood Studios’ offerings to Universal Studios and felt from their experience that Universal was the better value to visit. Now, we would note here that Universal Studios’ Yelp rating is a 3.5 — lower than the rating for Hollywood Studios.

Driving it home was this review calling Disney’s Hollywood Studios “a total bust,” for them.

They, too, compared this park to their experience in other theme parks around the U.S. and felt let down by how they spent their day due to rides not operating throughout the day and the elevated crowds during the holiday season.

We know not everything is going to run smoothly all the time, and we’ve had some disappointing food, days, and experiences at Disney World ourselves, but even the lowest rated park at Disney World has a rating well above average by Yelp standards. Here’s a look at the ratings for the other Disney World parks:

  • Magic Kingdom — 3.9
  • Animal Kingdom — 4.1
  • EPCOT — 4.2

And here’s a quick look at the ratings for other Florida theme parks:

  • Universal Studios Florida — 3.5
  • Islands of Adventure — 4.0
  • SeaWorld Orlando — 3.4
  • Busch Gardens Tampa Bay — 3.4
