No trip to Disney World is perfect — nothing ever is!

Your favorite ride might be down due to technical difficulties, the park might be super packed with holiday crowds, or Florida might bring its fickle weather to the party! We’ve definitely seen it all before, which is why we’re sharing how to salvage your day when things go wrong in Disney World!
Ever had one of those days at Disney World when things just don’t seem to go as planned? We’ve all been there! But don’t worry, we’re here to help! Let’s go over the ways you can salvage the day and make it one for the memory books!
Stay Calm and Flexible
You may want to start saying that line to yourself to, “Keep Calm and Carry On.” The thing to remember is that unexpected things happen all the time.

So, Space Mountain is temporarily closed, and Florida decided to send an unforeseen rain shower your way. No problem! Disney World can be like a rollercoaster, which means glitches are just par for the course.

Keep calm, stay flexible, and who knows? You might stumble upon a new favorite ride or discover a hidden gem while navigating the unexpected twists and turns.
Check the My Disney Experience App
Chances are that you’ve always got your smartphone with you, right? Perfect! This is where the My Disney Experience app comes in clutch.

Regularly check for real-time updates on ride statuses, wait times, and show schedules. This app is a treasure trove of knowledge and shortcuts and really puts the power back in your hands. So, when the unexpected problem shows up, you’ll be able to navigate it like the wise Disney pro you are!
Explore Less Popular Attractions
Is Big Thunder Mountain closed? No problem at all. Take a page from the Disney pros’ playbook and explore the road less traveled.

Those less popular rides, shows, and character meets might not have made your initial list, but trust us, they can be hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. As an added bonus, you might just find a new Disney favorite minus the crazy lines.
Take a Break
Sometimes you just have to give yourself a breather. Find a quiet oasis — whether it’s a shaded bench or a garden that’s tucked out of the way — and hit pause.

Start by just breathing and remembering that you’re in Disney World. It can really be a magical place if you let it. I think you’ll find that if you give yourself a moment of calm, it can be a game-changer. It’ll help to recharge your own “batteries” and change the script from something chaotic to exciting!
Indulge in Delicious Dining
And don’t forget that sometimes we’re just a little “hangry”!

Don’t feel any shame for wanting to treat yourself to a Dole Whip or a turkey leg as a little pick-me-up from finding out that your favorite ride is closed. We’re not saying to go and stuff your face, but remember that good food can help to lift up your spirits.
Be Weather-Ready
Remember this: Florida weather is like that unpredictable friend who shows up unannounced. Be prepared for anything!

Toss an umbrella, a lightweight poncho, sunscreen, and maybe an extra pair of socks into your bag, so that a sudden downpour won’t catch you off guard. Because let’s face it, nothing beats that feeling you get when you know you’ve already planned for the unexpected.

Just remember to try and go with the flow on your Disney World trip. There are a lot of moving parts to a vacation and being flexible can mean the difference between a great trip and a not-so-great trip.
