Tower of Terror Was STRUGGLING in Disney World Today

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a one-stop shop for thrills, eats, entertainment, and more — there’s plenty to see and do!

Or at least, there’s plenty to see and do when everything is functioning properly. It’s no surprise that rides can go down for any number of reasons in the parks, but it happens with some attractions more often than others. Today must be one of those days because a Hollywood Studios’ problem ride was acting up again.

Hollywood Studios is home to a few persnickety rides — Tower of Terror being one of them. We see this ride temporarily closed pretty often, and it was partially closed for a lengthy refurbishment not too long ago either. But, it looks like Tower of Terror was still riding the struggle bus this morning.

There are multiple different elevator shafts for this ride, and sometimes we’ll see one malfunction while another is still operational. This morning, we saw “minor technical difficulties” hit two of the shafts before. The ride was operating two sides of the ride, but since two of the shafts weren’t working, Cast Members actually closed the gate and entrance to the ride because the line was getting so long!

We saw them turning guests with Lightning Lane reservations away and offering them Select Experience Redemptions to be used at other rides instead. It looks like is no vacancy at the Hollywood Tower Hotel right now!

A few hours later, it appeared as though things had gone back to normal and Tower of Terror wait times leveled out a bit. If this ever happens to you, there are plenty of rides in Hollywood Studios to check out instead!
