REVIEW: We Tried 6 (!!!) Snacks At Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open again!

Typhoon Lagoon

Summer is almost here, but Orlando is already hot, so we’re making our way to Disney World’s Water Parks to cool off. Having all of this fun in the sun is making us hungry, though, so we’re putting Typhoon Lagoon’s dining to the full test. Let’s dive in!

When it comes to dining at Typhoon Lagoon, there are a few places you can stop and grab a bite that’s sweet or savory! Starting off, we’re checking out Lowtide Lou’s!

Lowtide Lou’s!

This quick service offers a few bites, but we grabbed the Barbecue Chicken Wrap for $9.79 without chips. This one was more of a “grab and go” situation. The wrap was prepackaged and on ice when we grabbed ours.

The wrap!

We expected this to be a bit soggy, but it wasn’t! The inside has fried chicken strips and crisp lettuce. The sauce was sweet but tangy! It wasn’t overly special, but it was a nice, refreshing, easy lunch when walking around the water park.

For something sweet, we stopped by the Snack Shack for the famous Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae for $16.99!

The Snack Shack!

The flavors are subject to change, but when we tested it out, the three flavors were pineapple, strawberry, and watermelon! This is a tried-and-true snack at Typhoon Lagoon. It’s sweet and refreshing, although a bit pricey for what you get.

The Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae

It comes with sweet popping pearls, and you get to keep the bathtub. It’s nothing overly exciting, but it’s shareable and sweet. For a drink, we stopped by Hammerhead Fred’s for a Captain Mai Tai for $16.50.

Hammerhead Fred’s

This drink comes with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Bols amaretto, and tropical juices topped with a floater of Plantation Original Dark Rum. To enjoy this drink, you have to like rum! It rests on top thanks to the floater and is the majority of the flavor.

The Mai Tai!

It has a strong nutmeg flavor, and the main tropical juice is pineapple. It’s a strong cocktail which helps justify the price, but it’s not for the faint of heart. After our drink, we stopped by Happy Landings Ice Cream!

Happy Landings!

We tested out the Pineapple Upside-down Cone for $6.99! It’s Dole whip pineapple and vanilla soft-serve with caramel sauce, vanilla cake, caramelized pineapple, and a cherry served under a white-chocolate dipped cone.

Pineapple Upside Down cone

This one is truly like a pineapple upside-down cake! There are extra bits of pineapple that make it even sweeter and juicier. There’s caramel syrup at the bottom to keep the cake even more sweet and moist. It pairs well with the ice cream, although we will say the cone isn’t super necessary.

A scoop!

This one reminded us a lot of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake from Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, which is a favorite of ours. For something a bit more savory, we went to the Leaning Palms for the Pork Elote Nachos for $12.49!

The pork nachos!

They come with roasted pork over nacho chips with an elote cheese sauce, guacamole, sour cream, roasted corn, jalapeños, and pico de Gallo. These were pretty good! There was quite a bit of pork with lots of toppings. They aren’t overly impressive, but they’re tasty and shareable.

A scoop!

They’re heavy, but they can be nice and filling after running around the water park all day. Finally, for a healthier option, we stopped by Typhoon Tilly’s and grabbed the Tropical Salad for $9.99.

Typhoon Tilly’s

This salad has assorted greens with tomatoes, cucumber, mango, pineapple, red pepper hummus, and chickpeas served with a mango vinaigrette. You can add chicken to this salad to make it more of a meal.

The salad before adding the chickpeas!

This salad was nice a tropical, living up to its name! It’s light and refreshing. The chickpeas added needed protein, and the dressing keeps it perfectly sweet. It’s not as heavy as the nachos, so we enjoyed this little win.

Let’s dig in!

Overall, these are some tried and true classics around the water park that will be open throughout the summer! There’s nothing that’s worth going out of your way for, but if you’re enjoying a day at the water park, these will keep you happy and full.
