If you’re looking to head to Mexico City from Orlando, your options are about to get better. Starting November 20th, low-cost airline Viva Aerobus will launch nonstop service from Orlando International Airport to Felipe Ángeles International Airport, just outside Mexico City.

This new route will make Orlando one of only seven U.S. cities with direct flights to Felipe Ángeles, a relatively new airport that opened in 2022. Viva Aerobus already flies from Orlando to Merida and Monterrey, so this is their third direct route between Orlando and Mexico.

Airport officials in Mexico see this as a win-win, saying the new flights will help grow both tourism and activity at Felipe Ángeles. Viva Aerobus has been gaining momentum, too — the airline started flying out of Orlando in mid-2024 and has already served nearly 47,000 passengers from the city.

Mexico remains a strong market for Orlando tourism. In fact, it was the fourth-largest source of international visitors in 2023, with 432,000 people making the trip — a 10% jump from the year before. Overall, Orlando welcomed over 6.13 million international visitors last year, up 25% from 2022.
