One of the Best Perks in Magic Kingdom Just Got Even Better

Update: Note that some of these spots may disappear at times and/or be entirely unavailable during your visit. Check to see what the situation is like when you go.

Y’all, it’s hot. And muggy. And people are dropping like flies.

Spaceship Earth

Trust us, Disney World is much more magical when you aren’t passed out due to dehydration. We’ve seen way too many small kiddos (and even grown adults) pass out in the parks this summer due to improper hydration. This makes us SO sad because this situation is SO preventable!

One of the greatest things about Disney World is that you can get free cups of ice water from the quick-service locations throughout the parks. You don’t even have to order food. Ya just walk up, tell the Cast Member you need some water, and they’ll hand over as much as you need. Not only this, but since the hottest week of the year at Disney World is underway, grabbing water has gotten even easier.

Free Ice Water

Yep, Cast Members  at Magic Kingdom have set up water stations where visitors can just walk up and grab a cup to quickly rehydrate or fill up their bottle. This makes it even easier to stay hydrated while in the park! They’ve done this in the past, and it makes staying hydrated so much easier. A Cast Member confirmed that these were put out today in order to alleviate the dense crowds that have flocked to quick service locations for water.

Water Station

Over at the refill stations, there are jugs of ice water and stacks of paper cups so that you can fill up your own cup or bottle. Visitors were LOVING THIS and were lined up at each one.

Give us all the ice water!

If you find yourself at Disney World this week, we meant it when we said that this is the hottest week we’ve seen so far this year. Stay hydrated, stay prepared, and don’t ruin your Disney World trip with something as preventable as dehydration.

  1. Disney still has perks? I thought they were all monetized by now.

OTOH, people passing out from heat strokes means fewer people spending money in the park.

  2. That is a great idea. I checked out Saturday, the 5th, after 7 days of hot days in the parks. I would have loved to have had easier access to cups of ice water.

  3. They did this at Typhoon Lagoon in April. It made it so much easier to stay hydrated. When the lines for food are really long and all you want is water you’re probably not going to wait. They need more of these in all the parks.
