NEWS: Park Passes SOLD OUT for Annual Passholders on a BIG Day in Disney World

A lot of really exciting things are happening in Disney World this year.

TRON Lightcycle / Run

A new Moana-based walkthrough attraction will open in EPCOT. New restaurants are coming to Disney’s BoardWalk AND Disney Springs. New characters will be doing meet and greets soon. And TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to open soon — even sooner than we think. That opening, though, means getting into Magic Kingdom could be a bit tricky.

Although the official opening date for TRON Lightcycle / Run is April 4th, Disney recently announced that the ride would open EARLY in Magic Kingdom for a soft opening on March 20th. That’s next week!

So you know what that means: March 20th just became THE day guests want to go to Magic Kingdom. So park pass reservations are filling up quickly and are already sold out for select Disney World guests. That’s right — Annual Passholders have NO park pass availability for March 20th now. It’s the case for those with an IncrediPass…

Interestingly enough, we noticed that March 20th was sold out YESTERDAY for Annual Passholders before Disney made the announcement about the TRON ride’s soft opening. It’s likely that rumors about the soft opening were already making the rounds before Disney officially announced it.

That date is still available to other guests, but we don’t expect that to last long. So if you’re wanting to get in on the soft opening, make that park pass reservation now! Guests will be able to experience the ride via the Virtual Queue or through purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane. There is no standby line for the ride.

So keep that in mind if you’re visiting Disney World next week or later and TRON Lightcycle / Run is on your list of priorities. In the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about the ride, including how the locker system works, along with other details you may need to know before riding.
