Things are CHANGING with the parking situation at EPCOT!

Over the past several months/years, we’ve seen parking changes made with the return of trams at certain parks and the return of FREE overnight self-parking for Disney World hotel guests. But now we’ve got another update!
In a post shared via Instagram, Walt Disney Imagineering revealed some CHANGES that are coming to the EPCOT parking lot. According to the post, starting this week, guests will be “welcomed to EPCOT in a brand new way” thanks to NEW parking signs.
We actually saw the beginning stages of these previously, but designs had not yet been placed within the structures when we saw them before.

But when we walked past today, we were able to see the NEW signs!

As part of EPCOT’s ongoing transformation, new characters and refreshed paint have arrived in the parking lot. The first important change is that the parking lot will now be divided into two sides — Space and Earth.
The lots are now themed to/named after various Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters including Rocket (appropriate since the park is home to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind).

Another lot appears to be named after Moana (as we shared above), again appropriate since EPCOT will soon become home to the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana walk-through attraction.
When we were in EPCOT we also spotted a sign for the Heihei lot!

And we found the Dory…

…and Crush lots too!

The other characters appear to include WALL-E, Eve, and Gamora. Keep an eye out for these newly themed/named character lots during your next EPCOT trip so you can quickly identify where you’ve parked!

In addition, Disney has revealed that a “redesigned auto plaza marquee will be installed in the coming weeks to welcome our guests to the park!” We’ll definitely keep an eye out for more updates on that.
Keep in mind that for now, parking lot trams have returned to the Magic Kingdom parking lot (Transportation and Ticket Center) and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Though Disney had previously announced that trams would return to all parks in 2022, we’re still waiting on updates for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
But the signs for the parking trams in EPCOT have been updated to reflect the new names for the lots.

Earth is where you’ll find Heihei, Moana, Crush, and Dory — which matches with World Nature (where The Seas with Nemo and Friends is, and Journey of Water will be).
Space is where you’ll find WALL-E, Eve, Rocket, and Gamora (World Discovery is where Cosmic Rewind is, so again it fits well!). Though the addition of WALL-E and Eve has us curious as to whether we could see these characters pop up in EPCOT in new ways. Hmmm…only time will tell!
