BREAKING: Happily Ever After Fireworks Will Return to Disney World in a NEW Way!

This is not a drill, folks!

Grab your nearest device and start planning your next Disney World trip because Disney just announced HUGE news that has us securing our Magicband+, adjusting our Minnie ears, and packing our bags!

Nothing completes a day in the Magic Kingdom quite like a fireworks show. It’s like pixie dust bursting in the sky! It’s hard not to tear up when you see the magnitude of the beauty coupled with the emotional swell of Disney music. We’ve loved and lost Wishes, and Happily Ever After. But now Disney has dropped some HUGE fireworks news.

If you’ve been listening to the Happily Ever After playlist on repeat and rewatching old YouTube videos of the final show, your prayers have been answered, and your wishes have been granted — Disney just announced that Happily Ever After is officially returning to Disney World next year! It may not look exactly like we remember it, though. Josh D’Amaro (Chairperson of the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products) announced at the D23 Expo that the Happily Ever After theme song will be returning as part of an “updated spectacular” in Magic Kingdom.

If you’re a fan of the current Magic Kingdom fireworks show,  Disney Enchantment, make sure you book your trip to Disney World soon because its last performance will be sometime next year. Disney hasn’t announced officially when the fireworks change will happen, but it will likely be after the 50th Anniversary celebrations end in the spring of 2023.

There are several ways to celebrate the retirement of Disney Enchantment or the return of Happily Ever After.  You can book a Fireworks Dessert Party, plan a perfectly timed dinner reservation at California Grill, or if you’re a DVC member, scoot over to the newly rethemed Top of the World Lounge.

UPDATE: Disney has announced that Happily Ever After will return to Magic Kingdom on April 3rd, 2023.
