How You Buy Disney Genie+ Has Officially Changed

When Disney Genie+ (the paid replacement for FastPass+) was first introduced, Disney World guests could add it to their tickets ahead of their visit (but only if they added it to every day of their trip). However, Disney announced this would change, and guests could no longer purchase Genie+ in advance. As of this week, those changes have gone into effect.

Now, Genie+ is only available to buy through the My Disney Experience app on the day of your park visit. You can buy it starting at 12AM each day. If you’ll be in Disney World for multiple days, you will need to buy Genie+ on each individual day that you want it. Note that this change is specific to Disney World and not Disneyland.

Minnie Vans Are Returning

Minnie Vans (Disney World’s popular rideshare service) are returning to Disney World. We knew that the vans would be returning, but now we know WHEN the service, which is operated by Lyft, will return: June 29th, 2022.

Minnie Van

Lyft operates the service, and you can book a Minnie Van directly through the Lyft app. Each van comes with complimentary car seats for little ones, so this may be a good option for families with small children for getting around the resort. Disney has noted that Minnie Vans will not transport guests between Disney World and the Orlando International Airport when the service begins running again. They haven’t said if or when that will happen in the future.
