PHOTOS: See the Latest UPDATES from EPCOT on the ‘Moana’ Attraction

With so much talk about EPCOT’s newest thrill rideGuardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewindopening soon, it can be easy to forget that there’s another new attraction in the works at this futuristic park.

Moana: Journey of Water will be a unique attraction at Disney World, which will feature lush greenery, exploration trails, and plenty of water features as the name implies. We’ve been keeping a close eye on construction at this spot for months. We recently hopped aboard the EPCOT monorail to see if there were any big updates. Wondering what this spot looks like now? Let’s check it out!

Disney has yet to share an opening date for Moana: Journey of Water, so we’ve been keeping an eye out for every construction update we can get. And now, it looks like the first rock formations for this experience have finally started to take shape!

We’ve got rocks, people!

Crews appear to be using cranes and other large machinery in this area to get everything in place. There’s also wire mesh caging to establish the general shape of the designs.

There are several additional metal support beams and concrete structures in place here, and if you look closely, you can even see some pipes and plumbing that will probably be used as part of the water features!

We’re one step closer.

A quick hop on the monorail will show you just how much construction is going on all around this area.
