Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been having a very rough time lately! With Rise of the Resistance racking up a four-hour wait time before shutting down, huge holiday crowds, and what seems like a curse on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, it’s been a bit of a rocky start for 2022 at Hollywood Studios.
Today, it seems like another ride has fallen victim to the Great Hollywood Studios Curse of 2022 (trademark pending).
Today’s latest victim of the Hollywood Studios curse is…Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Don’t worry! The ride is still running and working like usual, there’s just something missing.
Usually, when you head into the pre-show, you meet up with the audio-animatronic of Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Hondo Ohnaka, who puts you in charge of an important smuggling mission!
However, when we went to ride Smugglers Run today, Hondo Ohnaka was missing! The pre-show was relatively the same, just no Hondo animatronic.
This isn’t the first time this has happened! Back in June of 2021, Hondo went missing for a brief period before reappearing. When he eventually returned, there wasn’t anything noticeably different about him. If this Hondo disappearance is like last time, then he’ll likely reappear in the coming days.
Thankfully, the rest of the ride is running as usual, so you’ll still be able to enjoy a daring smuggling trip full of adventure (and maybe some motion sickness if you end up with a bad pilot).
