When you’re visiting Disney World, you might stumble into some issues from time to time that you simply can’t plan for.

For example, we’ve seen popular attractions close for technical difficulties, the My Disney Experience app go down, and even just a few days ago Splash Mountain was evacuated. And, if you’re visiting Disney World today, you may be dealing with another frustrating issue.
As we were exploring the park today, we opened up our My Disney Experience app and received a notification saying that “some of our digital experiences may be unavailable at this time. We’re actively working to resolve this issue.”

It wasn’t immediately clear exactly which parts of the app were not functioning correctly. But, upon some investigation, we realized that it seemed to be impacting some guests’ ability to enter the parks, Mobile Order, and more.

For example, at Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there was a growing walk-up line because many guests were unable to place a mobile order. We spoke with a Cast Member who shared that Mobile Orders weren’t going through, though the issue seemed to be resolved fairly quickly.

And, over at Magic Kingdom, Golden Oak Outpost was unable to process MagicBands for payments so it was important that guests had a backup payment method such as a credit card or cash.

So, if you’re visiting Disney World today, be prepared for some technical issues and be sure that you have more than one payment method with you just in case! We’ll continue to keep an eye on the issues, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

Ran into this problem at AK when purchasing a Mickey Bar…Magic Band would not work, so the cast member used the code on the back of the Magic Band and the charge went to our room labeled as “room charge”.
Amazon Web Services suffered a major outage today. It caused slow downs and outages in many consumer services, including Disney Plus. It would not surprise me if Disney used AWS for other things, too.
