UPDATE: Both Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain are now open.
There were some unexpected closures in Disney World this morning!
While in Magic Kingdom today, we headed over to Frontierland and noticed some attractions were shut down.
Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were both closed in Disney World.
Cast Members were standing on the bridge that leads to the entrances of both rides, blocking off the pathway from guests.
The bridge did reopen, but both rides remained temporarily closed. While no opening timeline was given, we did overhear a Cast Member saying that the closure may be “awhile”.
We’ll continue to check back throughout the day to see when the rides are up and running again! While temporary ride closures are normal, we don’t frequently see the closures of two rides next to each other, along with an entire area being blocked off.
