When visiting Disney World, it’s not uncommon to see rides temporarily closed for “technical difficulties.”
Typically when this happens, the rides aren’t down too long before they come back up, and it’s not a very big issue. However, the bigger problem comes when issues affect Disney World transportation!
As we were leaving Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that the monorail was shut down! Neither the resort line nor the express line was running from Magic Kingdom to the Transportation & Ticket Center.
At that time, the only transportation option back to the parking lot was the ferry boat. We encountered a rather long line mid-day!
The EPCOT monorail line is still running from the TTC, but if you’re staying at a monorail resort, it could be a little challenging to get there right now. Just keep that in mind when planning your transportation time.
Just remember to be patient when you encounter situations like this in Disney World. The Cast Members are working quickly to get things back up and running.

A very similar issue happened a few months ago in October. Today’s breakdown comes on top of a day where many guests were already experiencing tech glitches with the Disney World app and MagicBands.
