When you’re visiting Disney World, there are likely going to be some unpredictable aspects of your trip!
We’ve seen quite a few pop-up rainstorms over the years, and sometimes rides unexpectedly go down for technical difficulties or other reasons. Today, if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom, you might have a surprising transportation problem!
This afternoon, we spotted something unusual in Magic Kingdom — the monorail was closed!
At first, it was just the Express Monorail, so guests were being directed to the Resort Monorail instead. However, while in line for the Resort Monorail, it went down as well and guests were moved to the line for the Ferryboat.
When we got to the Transportation & Ticket Center, we noticed the same problem there. Both lines were closed, with ropes blocking the entrances.
We spoke with a few Cast Members, but they couldn’t give us details on the closures, noting that they weren’t sure why it wasn’t running. From what we could tell, nothing seemed to be broken down or stuck (although we didn’t have an unobstructed view of the entire track).
As of the time of publishing, the EPCOT Monorail line is still up and running. Guests traveling from the Magic Kingdom resorts can still use the boat transportation or walk to the park and guests coming from the parking lot can use the Ferryboat.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated if we get any more information, so stay tuned to AllEars!
