In Disney World, it’s not uncommon to see rides closed for routine maintenance.
In order to keep things in tip-top shape, most attractions have a refurbishment every few years (often once a year for water rides). And now, it’s a popular rollercoaster’s turn!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom will be closing for a short refurbishment from February 14th-18th, 2022. The website notes that the closure is due to “routine maintenance.”
The closure will only be for a few days, but if your trip falls during that time period and this is one of your favorites, you may want to move your Magic Kingdom park pass so that you’ll be visiting while it’s open. Don’t forget to check out the refurbishment calendar online ahead of your trip to avoid problems like this!
