Are Ticket Prices at Disney World Increasing in 2022? Here’s What We Know

A trip to Disney World can be a pretty expensive vacation, so it’s important to stay on top of any price changes and discounts to make sure you can get the most out of your trip while also budgeting appropriately.

Today, vacation bookings for Disney World for 2022 became available, and we’ve already noticed some unique things like that the Disney Dining Plan is not available for booking for those trips. Now that vacation bookings for 2022 are available, we’ve gotten a full look at ticket prices for 2022. Will your trip to Disney World be more expensive in 2022? Here’s what we’re seeing.

If you’re visiting Disney World, there are a number of ticket options available. You can buy a 1-day ticket, or buy as large as a 10-day ticket. You can also select whether you want to visit 1 park per day, add the Park Hopper option, add the ability to visit Water Parks or participate in certain Sports activities, or a combination of Park Hopping and water park/sports.

Generally, as you purchase tickets with more days, your price per day reduces. Disney uses a calendar pricing system meaning that every single day on the calendar has a specific ticket price associated with it. So, during the slower seasons, those ticket prices will typically be lower. But, if you’re planning on visiting during Christmas or another holiday, ticket prices per day will be much more.

Spaceship Earth

For the purposes of this article, we’ll mostly look at a 1-day 1 park per day ticket just to keep things simple. In both 2021 and 2022, the prices of the tickets (depending on the day you want to visit) range from $109 per day to about $159. Again, that is the same across both years. So, Disney has not raised the range of its ticket prices. You will find tickets in both 2021 and 2022 at the lowest price and the highest price.

So, the next question becomes, are days in 2021 priced the same in 2022? That’s where things get a little more complicated. The real answer is “it depends.” Take March for example. Here’s what the 1-day 1 park per day ticket prices look like for March of 2021.

And here’s what it looks like for 2022. If you look through each of the numbers, you’ll see that every single day in March is priced slightly higher in 2022, except for the 28th through the 31st, which are actually $1 less in 2022.

It’s a similar situation in April. Here are the 2021 prices.

And here’s a look at the 2022 prices. April 1st and the 26th in 2022 are actually priced lower than they were in 2021, but the rest of the days that month are now in a higher price bracket so to speak.

Again, the price range itself hasn’t increased from what we can tell. So, you won’t pay LESS than $109 per day (for a 1-day 1 park ticket regularly priced without any discounts) and you won’t pay MORE than $159 per day (again, assuming the 1-day 1 park, no discounts scenario).  It just looks like many of the days in 2022 now fall into a higher part of the price range as compared to 2021. So, you might find that you’ll have to pay more overall for your trip tickets in 2022 than you would have had to in 2021 for the same days.

Tower of Terror

But, again a few dates in 2022 have actually reduced in price as compared to 2021. And, others have stayed the same. For example, take a look at December, which is often one of the busiest times at Disney World with Christmas and New Year’s Eve. In 2021, from December 25th through December 31st, a 1-day 1 park ticket is priced at $159 each of those days.

That is the same in 2022. So, if you always visit Disney World on December 25th for example, your ticket for that day will (at least at this point) remain the same in terms of price.

But, if you typically visit on another day, things might be different. For example, if you typically visit on June 1st, your ticket would be priced at $126 in 2021…

…but priced at $129 in 2022. If you typically visit on June 3rd though, that ticket has gone down in price from $132 in 2021 to $129 in 2022. So, it all depends.

But, we will say that on average, we’re seeing a LOT of days in 2022 now fall into a higher part of the price range than they did previously. For example, in June only 2 days are priced at a lower price in 2022 as compared to 2021. The remainder of the days in the month now have a HIGHER price in 2022 than they did in 2021.

If you’re planning a trip for 2022, be sure to check Disney’s price calendar and see how things have changed for the typical days you visit. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes and let you know what we see.

  1. So we started planning on going to Disney since we found out that you can already tickets for 2022 but what I found is a lot of the hotels are already booked up for some of the dates that we were looking at so we moved it to a different month and those are already booked up and we look for a different we’ve even changed different hotels and certain dates are already fully booked right now so now I guess we’re going to try to go through a travel agency so that they can hopefully find us one of their reserved rooms that we can actually get at the hotels one of the two hotels that we’d like to get but that’s kind of crazy that they’re already booked

  2. There’s not much point doing a 1 day ticket comparison – I assume most Allears readers would never buy one due to the dire value for money they represent

  3. Just got back 3 weeks ago and are already planning our 2022 trip!! I thought we were going to have to wait until June for the pricing, so I’m super excited the booking window is now open!!
