Today is a a bittersweet day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As Disney moves forward with the 28,000 layoffs of Cast Members, we headed into the parks to say our farewells to the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra.

Although the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra has been playing in the parks recently as the Disney Society Orchestra, they recently announced that October 3rd would be their last day playing in Disney World.
Since the orchestra played its final performances today, we made sure to stop by to listen and thank them for years of music.

The orchestra looked as dapper as ever playing their setlist.

The group sounded amazing with their jazzy and brassy sound as they performed Disney music for fans and guests to hear.

Along with hits like the Cantina Band’s song from Star Wars, we listened to music from classic Disney movies throughout the show. Obviously, we loved every second of it!

As the show finished, the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra told everyone that “You’ve always got a friend in us” before their grand finale. We will miss seeing the band at the parks and resorts after years of incredible music. We want to sincerely thank each member of the Grand Floridian Society for the magic they’ve created, and we will miss them dearly.
