Well, we knew the day would come, but it still hurts.

There are so many construction projects happening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and one of the largest ones is the transformation of Muppets Courtyard into the new Monsters, Inc. Land! We’re looking forward to the new land, don’t get us wrong, but we have been missing our Muppets since the land closed, and now we’re missing them even more since it looks like they’re REALLY gone from the land now.
Thanks to the one and only @bioreconstruct on X, we’ve got an updated look at what’s happening in the former Muppets Courtyard. Over at the prior home of Muppet*Vision 3D, the signage has been completely removed, leaving no trace of the Muppets. There’s also lots of scaffolding on the right side of the building, which can be seen from inside the park.

Walls in Grand Avenue were also recently demolished in this land, and there are vehicles moving the dirt around to create something new in this area. We can also see lots of building materials right near the former clock tower. We’re curious to see if it’ll stick around and just be rethemed, or if it won’t be a clock tower once the refurbishment is complete.

It definitely looks like a lot of land is being prepped for new additions, which is exciting!

We can also see that all of PizzeRizzo is now gone as well. Previously, there was a bit of signage left up, but now, it’s no more.

There’s also been a BIG update on the roller coaster site, as the foundation looks to be almost complete. It’s clear this area is absolutely MASSIVE — if you zoom in close, you can see the workers for sizing comparison!

Other angles of the sight help to also show how big it really is — we really can’t wait to ride this new coaster!

We can also see where conduits, rebar, and bolts for track footers have been placed. It’s been rumored that the sandy area will be the ride’s station, but that hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

There are also massive supports up now, which can be seen from the Hollywood Studios parking lot! Yes, THAT’S how tall they are, and they’re the first of many.

From the angle below, we can also see that there’s no change so far to the road in between the park and the roller coaster site. Eventually, there will need to be a path opened up for people to get to the new ride, so we’re curious to see how that will develop as the project continues.

The new Monsters, Inc. Land that’s on its way to this new location will include numerous new dining locations and shopping spots, as well as Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster! The former Muppet*Vision 3D theatre will also be transformed into a new experience for guests to enjoy, but there’s been no official news on what will be coming in its place.
