Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can sometimes be stressful, leaving guests (especially those visiting for the first time, or first time in a while) open to certain “scams” that could potentially ruin their trip!

These “scams” run the full gamut of the Disney World experience, from tickets to the parks to travel to the resort to even eating while on vacation! Don’t fret, though, we’re going to tell you what to avoid… and how to really solve the problems that the scams prey on.
Untrustworthy Ticket Sellers
These days, there are plenty of places around the web — including Facebook Marketplace — that claim to sell Disney tickets under face value. Not to mention all of the third-party locations in the Orlando area claiming to offer Disney tickets. Please, don’t fall for them. Sure, there’s a chance you may strike gold… but there’s also a chance you might end up getting scammed with fraudulent tickets.

Instead, please only buy your tickets from authorized sales locations like the Disney World website or app, through a travel agent authorized to sell Disney Destinations, or through authorized ticket seller websites. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t get Disney tickets at a discount…
NOT Taking Advantage of Disney’s Discounts
In 2026, Disney is offering a LITANY of discounts, headlined by offering guests two free room nights and theme park days when they purchase a select 4-night, 4-day (or longer) Walt Disney Travel Company room and ticket package, allowing you to “savor every moment, take time to relax at your resort, and enjoy your favorite rides” according to Disney. This offer is available for visits most nights from May 26th through September 15th, with a booking window of January 6th through February 15th.

That’s just the start, as there are offers tied to spring, and offers for Florida residents and Annual Passholders, among others. In other words, even when you’re buying your tickets straight from Disney, don’t let yourself get “scammed” into paying full price.
Florida Toll Road Scams
Toll road text message scams have been proliferating around the country for a couple of years now, and Florida is no exception. In recent months, many people have been receiving scam texts from someone claiming to be the Department of Transportation, notifying them of an “unpaid toll balance.” Don’t click on the link they send you, and please don’t give them any credit card information!

If you find yourself driving to Walt Disney World from out of state and don’t own a SunPass or other toll-paying device, your tolls will be billed directly to the address to which the license plate is registered.
Food and Pizza Flyers
Anyone who’s stayed at Disney World in recent years has probably had a flyer for a “local pizzeria” or other supposed food delivery service. Granted, these services are tempting due to the lack of late-night food options at Disney hotels. However, PLEASE don’t give them your credit card information.

If you’re craving some late-night munchies, head over to the 24-hour McDonald’s or order through a service like Uber Eats, GrubHub, or DoorDash.

Be careful not to fall for any of these scams on your next trip to Walt Disney World, and stay tuned to AllEars for more tips on visiting the “Most Magical Place on Earth.”
