Disney just announced a TON of changes coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland!

Get ready to experience an expanded timeline, including more Star Wars eras that promise to unlock the storylines in the biggest way yet. We’re talking new characters, updates to stores, souvenirs, and even music! It’s all happening on April 29th, and we’re sharing all the details!
Disney shared that these changes will bring together the storylines of the Galactic Civil War and New Republic, along with the Age of the Resistance and First Order, which we’ve been used to seeing around Batuu. Let’s get into all the changes!
Characters
Darth Vader is officially coming to Batuu as he searches for Luke Skywalker — with plenty of help from Imperial Stormtroopers, too!

Han Solo and Leia Organa will reunite with Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca in Batuu as well. You can catch Han Solo hanging around his iconic ship, the Millennium Falcon, and Leia will also be nearby, recruiting travelers and locals to help keep Luke safe.

Luke Skywalker will be roaming the outpost as he seeks knowledge of the Force and artifacts related to lightsaber building, kyber crystals, and more.

Ahsoka Tano and The Mandalorian with Grogu can be found wandering near the marketplace. You’ll be able to find R2-D2 continuing his meandering near Droid Depot and the garage, while Rey will appear throughout the Resistance Camp.

Plus, the Disney Visa meet-and-greet that used to be home to Darth Vader will now be home to Kylo Ren!

Music
As you stroll through Batuu and the rest of the outpost, pay close attention to the updated music you’ll be able to hear. Beloved scores from legendary composer John Williams will make their way to Galaxy’s Edge. The “Main Title” and “Force Theme” will beckon you to a galaxy far, far away. As you wander through the land, you’ll hear motifs from other classic tracks, including “Han Solo and the Princess,” “The Desert and the Robot Auction,” “The Emperor,” and more.

Oh, and did we mention that the lively tune “Cantina Band” will be heard from within Oga’s Cantina? In the era of the Galactic Civil War, proprietor Oga Garra only recently opened this watering hole, which is already becoming a popular spot for intergalactic travelers.
Stores
With the blending of timelines, shops will be getting some updates as well. First Order Cargo will become Black Spire Surplus, a military salvage operation with artifacts from across the history of the galaxy, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War.

Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past, changing with the times.

And, an earlier generation of the Mubo family will now be operating Droid Depot, where you’ll be able to find prototypes of the BB-style droids. You might even catch Luke Skywalker meeting with Savi in his search for information on lightsabers and the Force at Savi’s Workshop.

Don’t worry, though, you can still experience the same rides and food you’ve been enjoying at Galaxy’s Edge, along with the projection show “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” On select evenings, “Fire of the Rising Moons” will also continue.

In addition, a brand-new comic will be released on April 22nd. Titled Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — Echoes of the Empire, it will blend the storylines coming to the land.
As of now, these changes are only coming to Disneyland’s version of Galaxy’s Edge, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any updates at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well.

We can’t wait to experience these new changes when they roll out on April 29th, and we’ll be bringing you a first look at them all. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more.

Many of us fans LOVE the many series both live action and animation on Disney +. Could we include a few of these characters somehow?
I can believe in a Wandering cast member playing Rey or masked characters playing Mando, Chewie, Kylo REN, or Vader, but wandering characters playing Luke, Leia, or Han would be very difficult for me to suspend disbelief.
Other than that, these changes sound great. Now, BE FAIR TO FLORIDA!
