This Hated Eyesore in Disney’s Hollywood Studio Just Got an UPGRADE

Big changes are in the works in Hollywood Studios!

Walls in Hollywood Studios

The Muppets are taking over Rock’n’ Roller Coaster, a Monsters Inc. Land is in progress, and the Animation Courtyard is being transformed. While these changes are exciting, they also mean a lot of walls around the park, and now, Disney has decorated these notable eyesores!

Walls…Walls as far as the eye can see! That’s how it feels walking around Hollywood Studios right now. Recently, walls completely surrounding the new Walt Disney Studios area appeared in Hollywood Studios. We’ve heard some work being done during the day, like hammering and sawing, which was actually pretty exciting. What we didn’t love is what these walls look like.

We think Disney might have heard our complaints because they have finally added some decor to these serious eyesores! Disney added the concept art for the new area with the words “more magic coming soon” at the bottom.

The new area, which will be called The Walt Disney Studios, will feature a new attraction called The Magic of Disney Animation. Disney shared that this new attraction will be “a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences. Topping the building will be Mickey’s iconic Sorcerer Hat (just like the real building in California!), which will cast a spell with pixie dust.

Inside The Magic of Disney Animation, animated characters will “come to life” in this new space where you can watch portraits interact, see a short film, and even learn to draw Disney character sketches. It feels like how the park used to be! It will also take inspiration from the short film Once Upon A Studio.

A new Drawn to Wonderland playground area will also be added to the land! It’s intended for small children, “filled with an oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset and a Tulgey Wood exploration area.”

The new area is anticipated to open in Summer 2026, so get used to those walls for the next few months! Do we honestly think Disney added these decorations because we don’t like the eye sores? Nope! Disney has a history of showing guests what they can expect from construction, long before these new walls.

So. Many. Walls.

Disney also added the concept art for the new Monsters Inc. Land to the construction walls on Grand Avenue. While we don’t love looking at walls, we do enjoy being able to see and daydream about what’s coming to the parks.
