If you are planning your Disney World trip for 2026, there is one park where you might have more trouble grabbing the top-tier ride!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to some of the most thrilling and immersive rides in Walt Disney World, from high-speed coasters to interactive attractions. For guests looking to maximize their time, the Lightning Lane system offers a way to skip the standby lines for popular rides, providing more flexibility and convenience during the day. But, in 2026, you might want to rethink which Lightning Lanes you reserve at this park.
In 2026, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will undergo significant changes to its Lightning Lane offerings, which we’ll revisit later. Currently, the Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows guests to select up to three attractions, with the option to include one Tier 1 attraction and two from Tier 2.
Tier 1: Choose up to one experience from this group:
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith
- Slinky Dog Dash
Tier 2: Choose your other 2 experiences—or all 3—from this group:
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
- Disney Junior Play & Dance!
- For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
- Muppet*Vision 3D
- Star Tours – The Adventure Continues
- The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Toy Story Mania!

In 2026, one of the tier 1 attractions will close for refurbishment. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for its transformation into a Muppet-themed attraction, Slinky Dog Dash is poised to become the most sought-after Lightning Lane Multi Pass. The absence of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, combined with Slinky Dog Dash’s popularity, will likely lead to longer wait times and increased competition for Lightning Lane access.

The reimagining of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to begin in 2026, with the attraction closing to make way for the Muppets’ Electric Mayhem band. The new experience will feature a storyline with some of the familiar faces of the Muppets.

This transformation follows the permanent closure of Muppet*Vision 3D and the introduction of a new Monsters, Inc.-themed land in its place. While the exact reopening date is yet to be announced, the reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is expected to debut later in 2026. If the ride comes back as a Tier 1 Multi Pass option, then it will likely take over as the most difficult to get Lightning Lane.
