When you’re walking through Hollywood Studios, you might see large walls and hear construction as you race towards Galaxy’s Edge. Behind those walls are Cast Members hard at work tearing down Muppets Courtyard and turning it into the new Monsters, Inc. land!

Monstropolis is starting to take shape, and while we’re devastated to see the closure of Muppet*Vision, we can’t help but be excited about the new attractions, and we’ve just gotten a new look at the construction behind the walls.
Bioreconstruct on X shared photos of the Monsters, Inc. area, and it looks like Disney is working on creating the space for the roller coaster.

This hanging door coaster will replicate the movements of the doors in the movie. The coaster will be in the space that was a Cast Member parking lot.

Bioreconstruct added a yellow outline of the building that’s coming. See Kermit’s face way in the back? That’s the original Muppets Courtyard, so it’s getting quite an expansion!

Inside the original space, they’re working on tearing up the ground, but there are still a lot of Muppet themed items in the space. The marquee sign for Mupept*Vision, Gonzo hanging from the clock tower, and other painted areas still stand.

Even the PizzeRizzo sign is still there! Miss Piggy has been removed from the fountain, but from the concept art, it appears they’re keeping the fountain.

There is a lot to come, and we’re excited to see what else Disney starts working on, so we can keep track of new projects. Although there is no current timeline for openings, you can be sure that AllEars will be here, reporting every step of the way.
