NEWS: Disney World's Express Monorail Is CLOSED This Morning

One thing you can always expect at Disney World is for the unexpected to happen.

The unexpected will happen at least once throughout your trip!

You could drop your Mickey Bar as soon as it’s handed to you by the gracious Cast Member. Your favorite ride could close as soon as you hop in line. Or, you could be hoping for a joy ride on the Monorail only for it to end up CLOSED. Yep, that happens to folks occasionally, and it just happened to us…

On December 12th, we were minding our own business at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to embark on our journey to Magic Kingdom when we realized that the Express Monorail was closed!

It’s closed!

The Express Monorail is the one with stops at the TTC, Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT. The good news is that you can also take the Resort Monorail to Magic Kingdom, however, there’s no other way to get to EPCOT from the TTC if the Express Monorail is closed. You’ll just have to drive or take the bus from one of the Monorail Resorts!

Cast Members didn’t offer any insight as to why the Monorail was closed, but it usually isn’t any cause for concern and is almost always up and running again within the next few hours.
