The Newest Weird Thing People Are Doing in Disney World

Disney World is a common place for trends to appear.

Social media trends have taken over society, and Disney World is not immune to them. You may see many people recording TikTok dances, Instagram reels, and many other trends while walking around the parks. One trend that actually started in Disney, is now becoming FAR more popular with park-goers.

For many years, “pixie dusting” has been a common trend with Disney Cast Members. If you were ever “pixie dusted”, that meant a Cast Member added a little extra magic to your day. This could be giving you an extra FastPass (when FastPasses were still around), handing out stickers, or any other unexpected (and not required) fun gesture for a guest.

But now, guests have taken the idea of “pixie dusting” into their own hands. People have started bringing little trinkets with them to Disney World (and Universal Florida) They hand these out or hide them in random places, to spread a little extra cheer for other park-goers. You may also find a little note attached to them!

It has also become popular to do a sort of reverse “pixie dusting” by giving trinkets to Cast Members in Disney World as a token of appreciation. Disney fans have always felt the magic from Cast Members and many now hope to return the favor. You can even find many Facebook groups that share their most recent “pixie dusting!”

This is a fun way to spread some positivity and smiles on your trip. Just be careful, though, that you’re not doing it in a way that is against any Disney or Universal rules and policies. It’s important to be aware of what you can and can’t trade, gift, or hide while in the parks. But most importantly, have fun enjoying the magic!
