PHOTOS: Splash Mountain Could Remain Closed All Day in Magic Kingdom

Do you have a must-do ride when you’re visiting Magic Kingdom?

For some, it’s classics like the Haunted Mansion or PeopleMover, while others are looking for more of a thill on rides like Space Mountain. But, if your favorite attraction is Splash Mountain and you’re visiting Magic Kingdom today, you may have to go without a ride.

As we were making our way around the park this morning, we opened up the My Disney Experience app and noticed that Splash Mountain was listed as “Temporarily Unavailable.” So, we made our way over to Frontierland to see what was happening.

When we arrived, we noticed that the water on the main hill had been shut off and one of the boats was sitting at the bottom.

And, we later learned that it could be a while before this fan-favorite ride is up and running once again. We spoke with a Cast Member outside of the entrance who shared that the ride could be closed all day.

UPDATE: According to the My Disney Experience app, Splash Mountain has since reopened in Magic Kingdom.

Crowds have been pretty busy in Magic Kingdom for the holiday week, and it seemed that many guests looking for a ride on Splash Mountain turned to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad instead. The standby wait time was up to 65 minutes when we passed by!
