Something Is DIFFERENT About Magic Kingdom Right Now

Who’s ready for summer in Disney World?!

It’s almost summertime!

The hottest season is also one of the most popular times for folks to vacation in the parks, and this summer is going to be WILD with new attractions, new lands, and lots of fun entertainment. But, another way Disney celebrates the summer season is with a little bit of special decor at Magic Kingdom.

Shortly before Memorial Day each year, Disney puts up American flag decor for the summer season. These flags will usually stay up through 4th of July.

The decor isn’t quite as overstated as the decorations for Halloween or Christmas, but you’ll first notice these banners on the train station as you enter Magic Kingdom.

They’re visible on The Emporium as well!

We spotted some on many of the main buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. They just make this area of the park look a bit more colorful.

But this isn’t the only way that Disney will celebrate the most patriotic season. We also often see red, white, and blue-themed treats in the bakery cases, and there are usually a few American-inspired merchandise items.

4th of July in particular will have its own special fireworks show (it usually runs on July 3rd and 4th in the evenings). Magic Kingdom will be absolutely PACKED that day, so be sure to have a plan if you’re coming to visit then. Memorial Day weekend will also likely be busy, as many folks have Monday off of work and take the weekend to go on vacation.

The other big thing that Disney has announced relevant to this topic is that EPCOT is getting a Soarin’ Across America ride overlay. This new version of the ride features scenes from across the United States in honor of our country’s 250th birthday this year.
