REVIEW: We Tried a $8 Churro in Disney World, and It Was…Something

It’s a known fact that Disney World churros just aren’t the same as Disneyland churros. We dream about Disneyland churros more than we care to admit, but more often times than not, we find ourselves disappointed with the majority of the churros around Disney World (with the exception of Nomad Lounge — we DO dream of those).

Over in Disney Springs, you’ll find two different Sunshine Churros locations, which, true to their name, are known for serving up different churros. Every now and then, a new flavor will arrive, and we add it to our list to try out. The newest flavor features none other than strawberry AND Dubai chocolate, which is still very trendy. Is it worth the visit, though? We found out!

The Strawberry Dubai Chocolate Churro is now available for $7.99. These churros are rolled in strawberry sugar, drizzled with chocolate and pistachio sauce, and finished off with katalli.

As to be expected (unfortunately), the churro is a bit on the stale side instead of having the pleasant crunch you’d like from a churro. The strawberry flavor is the most prominent flavor here, as it’s covered in the sugar, so you’ve really got to like that flavor to enjoy this. The chocolate drizzle adds a bit of additional sweetness, but the pistachio flavor doesn’t really come through other than a salty aftertaste. The katalli on top is supposed to add a crunch, but in our experience, it was really just more for looks rather than taste or crunch.

The flavor combination isn’t bad, but we do feel it more resembles a slightly salty chocolate covered strawberry instead of strawberry Dubai chocolate. It is a messy snack, as it’ll leave your hands covered in the drizzle, so be sure to grab napkins!
