It’s part of our job to try out all the new Disney World snacks, so you know what’s worth grabbing on your next trip, and what you may want to leave behind.

Everyone’s taste buds are different, for sure, but some of the things we’ve tried this month? Well, we’ve gotta be honest — four of them were REALLY disappointing. So much so that we really don’t recommend anyone spend money on them, which is extra painful since a few of them came from some favorite spots.
Starting off, we’ve gotta mention something that we *technically* had at the very end of November, but it’s around for the whole month of December for EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays. The Cranberry-Oatmeal Cookie at Holiday Hearth Desserts had a good flavor, but that texture? AWFUL. This was so stiff and crunchy, it was like a crunchy Nature Valley granola bar, but NOT in a good way. Honestly, we were slightly worried we’d break our teeth. Not to mention it’s ENTIRELY covered in glitter, which gets absolutely everywhere, you’ll be finding it for days.

Instead, head to the Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow to grab the Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth cookie! This will disappear after the festival ends on December 30th, but it’s been around for a few years now due to its popularity.

We also headed over to The Polite Pig in Disney Springs for the new Taco Trio for $17, and unfortunately, this wasn’t great either. We even chatted with a Cast Member from Mexico right before we grabbed it, who recommended we not even go near it, and she was right.

These are really nothing special, and we have a feeling the restaurant knows that, because they weren’t pushing it in the store at all. The meat’s seasoning didn’t match at all with the rest of the flavors — it was more like barbecue-style rub on brisket rather than tacos, which really threw us off.

Now, we do think these WILL have an audience with some people, as the pork belly on the one taco was great, but the chicken taco really disappointed us. The seasoning on the chicken was more like a rub, and again, the flavoring just threw us off because it was so heavy on the barbecue. We think these could be a lot better, so maybe there will be some changes made, and it’ll improve!

If you want some delicious tacos that are sure to hit the spot, we were recently super impressed by Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs.

Finally, we have not one, but TWO new items from the new BoardWalk Snack Stand. Starting off, the Saltwater Taffy Popcorn is $7.49, and it has NO taste of saltwater taffy; it just tastes like cake batter. The popcorn itself was also on the stale side, and it really just tasted like sugar. It had so much of it that, no matter what piece you had, it left this lingering flavor of sugar in your mouth, which wasn’t great.

We’d rather pop into EPCOT real quick to grab the Maple Popcorn in the Canada pavilion. Instead of having to beg people to eat it, you’ll be fighting over the last pieces!

The other item we grabbed at this new stand was the Churro with Chocolate Sauce for $7.49 as well. This was your basic Disney World churro, which is to say that it’s soft instead of crunchy and just isn’t anything to write home about. It’s got lots of cinnamon sugar, and the chocolate sauce on the side just tasted like runny Hershey’s chocolate syrup. It wasn’t terrible, per se, but it was still a letdown for a spot that’s been closed for a long time.

Instead, head to Nomad Lounge for some of the best churros in ALL of Disney World!
