REVIEW: You’re Missing Out on TWO of the BEST Snacks in Magic Kingdom

When we’re craving a snack staple in Disney World, there’s only a handful of places we would trust with our lives. As Disney continues to add more and more lounges and immersive dining experiences, there’s just something about the idea of walking up to a counter, grabbing a snack, and either taking it to go or sitting down for a quick break that speaks to us. If you’re someone who likes to eat on the go (or just wants to snack your way around Magic Kingdom, enjoying some of the AE crew’s favorites), there’s ONE particular restaurant you DON’T want to pass up!

Lunching Pad

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by The Lunching Pad at Magic Kingdom and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

Ready for blast off? The Lunching Pad serves up the perfect place to refuel, offering out-of-this-world specialties including all-beef hot dogs, stuffed pretzels, chips, and more. And don’t forget to pick up a frozen beverage or water before you blast on outta here.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

Located in Tomorrowland just under the shade of the looming Astro Orbiter and our beloved PeopleMover, you’ll find this counter service snack spot here.

Lunching Pad

It’s small and cozy, but that’s how we like ’em sometimes — just the basics and a little less frill.

Menu

Everything for this restaurant will be found outdoors (including the seating), but it is shaded from the sun’s beaming rays, making stopping by here that much more enjoyable when you’re craving a nice frozen drink or specialty pretzel!

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

To start us off, we grabbed the Queso Fundido Hot Dog
for $13.49. This is made of an All-Beef Hot Dog topped with Queso Fundido, Street Corn Relish, and Spiced Tortilla Strips served with a choice of Side.

Queso Fundido Hot Dog

A couple of years ago, The Lunching Pad introduced some “fancy” hot dogs, and this is one of the bunch that managed to stick around…for good reason! The queso has a hint of spiciness to it, and the tortilla chips add some crunchy texture. The hot dog itself was juicy and plump, and altogether this is a HUGE portion. If you like a little savory and a little spicy, this is probably right up your alley.

We also grabbed the Cream Cheese Pretzel for $8.49. This is made of a Warm Stuffed Pretzel filled with Sweet Cream Cheese.

Cream Cheese Stuffed Pretzel

This is a very popular snack for longtime Disney fans because it’s so soft and easy to pull apart, plus you get that delicious warm, melty cream cheese frosting inside. The cream cheese flavor is strong, and the pretzel itself leans a bit more on the sweet side as opposed to the other cheese-stuffed pretzels. This is a good grab-and-go treat to pick up in the middle of your day.

YUM

To bring everything together, we also grabbed the Sticky Bubble Bread for $6.99. This is made of Sweet Bread rolled in Cinnamon, Caramel, and Warm Spices. It’s one of our FAVORITE items on the menu here!

Sticky Bubble Bread

This is essentially the cousin of a cinnamon roll, with its soft interior and incredibly sticky caramel sauce. You’ll definitely want to eat this one with a fork, but we love the sweet and spiced combination of flavors. It’s gooey and delicious and perfect for a sweet treat!

A perfect treat!

To drink, we picked up a Frozen Coca-Cola Slushy for $6.49. This is just a simple frozen form of a classic soda.

Frozen Coca-Cola

It’s not as carbonated as a regular Coke, especially as the drink starts to melt, but the flavor is there. It tastes exactly like a can or bottle of the classic beverage! There’s a reason this one is so beloved.

A classic!

So how does The Lunching Pad fare?

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You’re in the mood for a quick snack. With the Sticky Bubble Bread and the Cream Cheese Pretzel, they’ve got a couple of heavy hitters.
  • You want to try a unique hot dog. The Queso Fundido Hot Dog is unlike anything else you can get in Disney World, and it’s definitely worth the purchase if you’re a hot dog fan!
  • You want to get food FAST without having to wait. This spot isn’t as busy as other quick service locations, so you can usually order at the counter quickly or Mobile Order your food immediately.

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

  • You want to get out of the heat. All the seating is outdoors, and most of it is in the sun, making this spot not as fun during the summer.
  • You have picky eaters. The menu here isn’t very large, so you might want to head elsewhere (like Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe) if you’ve got people with particular tastes.

We’re big fans of this spot for a quick bite to eat — it often gets looked over for bigger, flashier options.
