PHOTOS: See the Latest Construction on the NEW Lobby Bar Coming to Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel

Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of the most iconic Disney World Resorts. Its vintage aesthetic and gorgeous atmosphere hit us every single time we visit.

With all the construction that has been going on at the Grand Floridian, the resort hasn’t quite looked the same — but Disney is making progress!

If you’ve visited the deluxe resort recently, you’ve most likely been running into walls in the lobby, and lots of them.

We went to check out the resort to see if any updates had been made or if any progress could be seen. Sure enough, there was some progress underway. The Birdcage Bar in the lobby is starting to come together — take a look!

This is huge and exciting progress; a lot has been done in a month!

If you didn’t know, the Birdcage Bar is a big reason why all this construction is happening. The construction that has been going on in the deluxe resort’s lobby is to add a lobby bar and work on refurbishments. The lobby’s birdcage will inspire the bar and “will pay tribute to the resort’s Victorian roots with intricate woodwork, stained glass, and brass accents.”

On top of the new lobby bar, Disney has been working on general refurbishments to the resort. Areas around the lobby, staircase, and front desk will get updates, still matching the resort’s theme. The lobby will also receive new carpet that will have “Victorian-inspired borders and scrollwork featuring hand-drawn florals inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical studies.” It’s going to look stunning!

We would say, if you can, save your reservations to stay at this resort once the updates are complete. However, Disney has not yet shared when all this is supposed to be finished, and when we’ll see the new lobby bar.

It’s good that Disney continues to update and improve this beautiful resort while maintaining its original theme, style, and vibe. We look forward to seeing these new updates and trying out the new bar!
