Disney World Cast Member Injured During Hollywood Studios Show

According to BBC, a Disney World Cast Member was injured on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, during the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The fake boulder used towards the beginning of the show went off its track and started rolling towards the audience.

The Cast Member jumped into the 400-pound boulder’s path to prevent it from rolling into the audience. The Cast Member was able to divert the boulder from entering the audience, but was injured in the process.

Disney made a statement on Wednesday regarding the accident: “We’re focused on supporting our cast member, who is recovering. Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened.”

An Associated Press article noted that one of the shows was canceled on Tuesday after the incident, and Wednesday’s shows did not include the boulder stunt.

According to WFTV, the Cast Member, Robert Herrick, fractured two vertebrae and is currently in a neck brace for the next two months or more. When asked about the incident and referred to as a hero, Herrick said, “I had a difficult time with that moniker, I do. I think 30-plus years of being on that stage that I love so much — I love that show with all my heart, my epic family I love — put me in that position. Hero, there was no thought, Ashlyn, about that at all. My only thought was that thing couldn’t reach the audience.”
