Remember when Ariel sang “I wanna be where the people are“? Well, she wasn’t kidding. During our last visit to Disney World, we spotted Ariel in a new outdoor location! (She was using her human legs, obviously.)

Fun fact! You can meet Ariel (from the live-action Little Mermaid movie) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it seems like nobody even knows she’s over there — she’s normally tucked away inside the Walt Disney Presents building. Now, though, Ariel is in a NEW spot! Here’s where to find her.
According to the My Disney Experience app, you can find Ariel meeting visitors near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular right now. She’s in the Echo Lake section of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and you can find her full list of meeting times on the app each day.

Of course, we HAD to stop by and say “hello” now that Ariel is up where they walk, up where they run, up where they stay all day in the sun.

Now, it’s important to note that during this temporary change, Ariel is fully outdoors. This means that if inclement weather rolls in, her meet-and-greet may be relocated to a covered area, postponed, or canceled. Check the My Disney Experience app if you spot rain clouds!

The Disney World website has also been updated to reflect this change. It appears to be a temporary change, though, based on the wording of Disney’s statement: “Meet Ariel at Walt Disney Presents will be temporarily unavailable beginning October 28. Ariel will be greeting guests at Echo Lake, near 50’s Prime Time Cafe.”

So, what’s with the change, anyway? Well, there’s no active construction inside the Walt Disney Presents building, but it’s possible that the nearby demolition could cause so much noise that it would be disruptive to guests inside the meet-and-greet. Disney is working on a brand-new Animation Courtyard area!

This move is listed as temporary, but at this time, Disney has not revealed how long it will last. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more information, but if you know you’ve got a trip coming up and want to meet her, we suggest checking the My Disney Experience App to see where she’ll be meeting.

It’s our job to keep you updated on everything BEFORE your trip, but our friends at Mouse Fan Travel can help with everything DURING your trip. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
